Challenge

(01)

Create a new packaging illustration for a new flavour.

For Peeze’s Communitea line, I was asked to create a new packaging illustration for green tea lemon. The product already carried a strong story in its flavour and origin, but that story was not yet fully visible on pack. The challenge was to bring more atmosphere, place and human touch into the packaging without relying on generic tea imagery or making the story too literal.

Translation

(02)

The final concept draws on the Kandyan sari as a subtle way to evoke the people behind the tea.

Rather than showing the full origin story in an obvious way, I looked for a visual entry point that could hold both flavour and place. The direction I chose was inspired by the Kandyan sari. Its movement, rhythm and character offered a way to hint at Sri Lanka’s cultural context in a softer and more suggestive way. From there, I built an illustration that could carry freshness, craft and warmth at once, using colour and composition to connect lemon, green tea and origin in one visual language.

Outcome

(03)

The result is a packaging image that carries flavour, origin and human presence in a quiet but distinctive way.

The final illustration brings the drinker closer to the tea without overexplaining it. It gives the packaging more atmosphere, a stronger sense of place and a clearer emotional connection to the product. This project reflects how I like to work: starting with what is already true about a product, and translating that into something people can see and feel.
